Robert F. Campbell, 94, of Connersville, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Arbor Trace Assisted Living in Richmond, Indiana.

He was born January 24, 1930, the last of four children of Charles W. Campbell and Amy (Nowlin) Campbell of Harrison, Ohio. He married Geraldine “Geri” (Tulley) Campbell April 3, 1970.

Bob was very active in basketball and softball, playing fast and slow pitch softball for 37 consecutive years in industrial and church leagues. He was trustee for First Presbyterian Church of Connersville for two years, as well as a charter member for the Whitewater Valley Chapter 5025 AARP, where he served as president, vice president, and treasurer many times. Bob was also a lifetime member of the Amvets.

Bob graduated from Harrison High School in 1948. He worked for A&P Grocery before joining the U.S. Navy before the age of 19. After boot camp in California, he spent time aboard three ships and visited the states of Washington, Alaska north slope, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and Norfolk, Virginia. On Returning to Harrison, he went to work for Rex Manufacturing in Connersville, retiring in 1992 from Ford Electronics and Manufacturing after 42 and a half years of service as an industrial engineer. Bob was certified in method time measurement and general-purpose data and many classes sponsored by IUPUI through Ivy Tech.

Survivors include six children, Robert (Pam) Campbell of Indianapolis, Karen (Tim) Day of Connersville, Jennifer (Jim) Hermann of California, Robin (Debbie) Campbell of Florida, Brett (Lisa) Campbell of Missouri, and JoAnn Greene of Ohio; 48 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Geri Campbell who passed away on November 16, 2024; his parents, Charles and Amy Campbell; three siblings, Catherine Dole, Charlotte Mapes, and Wilbur (Bud) Campbell; a son-in-law, Bob Greene; and a grandson, Kyle Minton.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Billups will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Dale Cemetery.
