Jimmy E. Booker born on June 19, 1940 of Tuscumbia Al. passed away December 13, 2024. Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2024 from 5-7 at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Service will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Eastport Cemetery in Iuka, Ms. Officiating will be Scott Livingston.

Jimmy is preceded death by his parents; John and Lillian Booker; wife, Doris Booker, and brother Jerry Booker.

Jimmy is survived by his sons; Bruce Booker and Mark Booker (Kala) grandchildren; Callie Booker and Austin Booker.

He was born and raised at the Booker homeplace in Eastport Hollow in Tishomingo County, MS. Jimmy was the oldest of two sons born to John E. (Ted) and Lillian Sanderson Booker. He and his brother walked one mile to Clements Chapel School, a one room-one teacher school, it was located next to the Eastport Baptist Church and in front of Eastport Cemetery. He graduated in1953 and began attending Iuka High School in the fall 1953 then graduated with the class of 1957. He attended Northeast MS. Junior College in Boonesville, MS. until 1958. Jimmy worked at Genesco in Iuka then worked at Reynolds Metal Company in Sheffield, AL plant for 37.5 years.

He married Doris Walker on December 23, 1961 and they moved to Colbert County AL. He was a member of Valdosta Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and assistant at the church.
