Virginia Lee Westerman, 77, of Galesburg, died at 9:07 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Morningstar Care Home in Neodesha.
She was born September 1, 1947 at Parker to Willard R. Gage, Sr and Viola M. (Anderson) Gage. She grew up in the LaCygne area and attended school at Mound City.
On May 5, 1973 she and Paul J. Westerman were married at Fulton. They lived in Chanute, rural Erie and since 1975 in Galesburg.
Virginia worked for the Pete’s Corporation in Galesburg and Parsons for 30 years and sold Avon products for 40 years. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie and its Altar Society.
Survivors are her husband, Paul Westerman of the home; a son Brian Westerman of Galesburg and a daughter Lori Falkenstien (Scott) of Chanute; two grandchildren, Paul Falkenstien of Kansas City, MO and Jessica Falkenstien of Chanute; and a great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Brecheisen of Chanute; a brother, Joey Collins (Melinda) of Ft. Scott.
Preceding her in death was an infant son, Andy Resz; three brothers, Junior Gage, Tom Gage and Rocky Collins and a sister, Irene Cooper.
The Memorial Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, December 20 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie, with Rev. Matthew Davied officiating. The rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., Friday, prior to the Mass. Burial will be at a later date at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery at Piqua. Friends may call at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie to sign the register from 1 p.m., to 5 p.m., Thursday.
