Norman Edward Fischer passed away peacefully with his family and dearest friend by his side on December 13, 2024, at the age of ninety. Born August 13, 1934 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Norman lived through the renaissance age of Atlantic City and was a walking encyclopedia for all things in Atlantic City.

In 1946, Norman’s parents opened Irv Fischer's Shoes on Maryland Avenue in Atlantic City. Over the past 78 years, Norman fit families for over multiple generations. Up until this past summer, when the last generation of children were fit for their first pair of shoes by the very best.

Norman met the love of his life, Audrey, at the age of 14. They spent almost 70 years building an incredible life together that was centered around their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An important part of Norman’s life was giving back to his community. He was in the Naval Reserves, a member of Avoda, a Free Mason, and an active member of Congregation Beth Israel. In his down time he enjoyed reading, fishing, puzzles and he was an incredibly talented photographer, painter and pianist.

Norman is predeceased by his life partner and wife, Audrey, who he loved dearly and smiled about until his final day. He is survived by his children, Shelly, Brian, Debra, Bill, Alan and Susan, his grandchildren Erin, Michael, Jennifer, Chad, Sarah, Lindsey, Ethan, Tamara, and Emerson and his great-grandchildren Miller, Noa, Dean, Nolan, Laila, Anthony, Nieko and Zoe.

Synagogue services will be held Sunday December 15th at 1:00pm at Congregation Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road in Northfield. Interment will be private. A livestream will be offered at www.JSGFunerals.com for those unable to attend synagogue services.
