Michael S. Smith, 58, of Sacco Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2024. He was born October 29, 1966, in Norwich, a son of the late Charles and Virginia (Sayles) Smith and received his education in local schools.

Michael was a very giving person and well loved by the community including by his coworkers and customers of Tractor Supply, Hamilton, where he worked for several years. Previously, he had worked at NYE Ford, Raymond Corp., Greene, and Page Seed Co., Greene. In his younger years, he was a wild driver and enjoyed participating in demolition derbies and won a trophy with his car named “Tracey 27 Shear Magic”. Mike had dreams of owning a 1969 Dodge Charger 426 HEMI. He had fond memories of junking cars with his late friend, Barney, and attending auctions with his other good friend, Mark Mascada. He was very proud of his chicken coop condo he built in the yard.

He is survived by his domestic partner, Tracey Tucker, of Hamilton, and her family, sisters; Kathryn Smith, Susan Ray, Chrystal Smith, and a brother, Jeffrey Greene.

He was predeceased by his infant sister, Bonnie Sue, a sister, Pamela Penner, a brother, Darrell Smith, a brother-in-law, Charles Penner, a dog, “Bo”, and a cat “Eight Ball”.

A memorial service will be held at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, NY 13346, on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 6:00pm.

Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home from 4-6, prior to the service.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
