Jose Alberto Dager, age 82, found his eternal resting place in heaven on Friday, December 13, 2024 in Del Rio,Texas.
He was born in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico to Juan Dager Abuxapqui and America Mir Abud. He married the love of his life Bertha Waldo Medina in Mexico City on November 14, 1964.
"Papa" Albert as he was affectionately known, was a kind-hearted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family dearly especially his grand and great-grandkids and often found himself in trouble for spoiling them. There was no task too big that he wouldn't do for them. He never met a stranger and had a way of making a person feel welcome and at ease shortly after meeting them. Papa had an infectious smile and would spread joy when walking into a room.
Alberto worked in various industries throughout his life including clothing manufacturing and sales. He was a math whiz and worked as a machinist. He also worked with Hitachi and General Electric Canada constructing and installing the turbines for the hydro-electric plant at Amistad Dam. He later became a life insurance agent for various companies and earned top salesman for many years. He eventually set out on his own as an independent.
When not at work, Alberto liked working with his hands and was good at fixing sewing machines. He took pride in keeping a lovely yard for his grandchildren to play in. He was an avid bowler and participated in many state tournaments. He loved cooking his fabulous fajitas and shared that talent at church functions and at home celebrations and family gatherings.
Alberto is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and America; daughter, Denise America Dager; grandson, Jordan Lee Isenhour.
