Betty L. McConkey Obituary
Betty Louise McConkey, 80, of Wesley Chapel Fl passed away at home, surrounded by family on Dec 10, 2024. She was born July 29, 1944 in Champaign, Illinois to Irma and George Warren. Betty was one of six children. She graduated from Urbana high school and worked for Kraft Foods for 30+ years. She retired & move to Wesley Chapel to be closer to family. She loved to travel with Hawaii being her happy place. Some of her greatest accomplishments included visiting all 50 states and traveling to over 20+ countries. She loves sewing and making quilts for her loved ones, often making table runners for the veterans at Richard’s Coffee shop in North Carolina.
Betty is survived by daughter, Renee Parker of Wesley Chapel Fl; granddaughters, Heather and Jennifer Patten, Wesley Chapel Fl and Amber Fisher, Springfield MO; daughter- in -law, Pam Cardey, Roby, MO; brother, George Warren (Evelyn) of Merriville IN; sisters, Wanda Fett (Mike) and Susan Revell (Ray) Urbana IL.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert McConkey, (1999); son, Darrell Fisher (2018); brothers, Fred Warren (2020) and Richard Warren (2009) and her puppy Sophie (2023).
A memorial service will take place Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Hodges Funeral Home, Zephyrhills FL with a viewing one hour prior to serivce.
