Janeen Michelle Jones, 58, peacefully departed from this world on December 5th, 2024.
Born on February 11, 1966, in the vibrant Bronx, New York, she was the cherished
daughter of her late parents, Donald and Curleen Jones Sr.
Janeen's early years were spent on the sunny West Coast in Inglewood, California, where
she attended Bennet Kew Pre-School and Center Park Elementary School. Later, she and
her family, including her late brother Donald Jones Jr., returned to Englewood, New
Jersey, where she completed her education within the Englewood School system.
Throughout her youth, Janeen embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She had a passion
for roller skating, often spending her weekends at Skate Key in the Bronx. The allure of
New York City's nightlife captivated her, and she frequently enjoyed the vibrant
atmosphere of renowned clubs like Roxy, Latin Quarters, and the Palladium. Janeen was
known for her extensive vocabulary and eloquent conversations, effortlessly engaging
with anyone around her. Her intellectual curiosity and depth of knowledge made her a
standout presence in any gathering—a true "research queen" who combined wisdom
with humility.
In essence, Janeen was intelligent, diligent, sociable, and kindhearted. She embodied the
qualities of an exceptional coworker and friend. Throughout her career, she dedicated
herself to various roles, including ten years at Lew Magram and eight years at Candler
Coffee, where she earned multiple awards for her outstanding service and dedication.
For the last 19 years, she thrived at Staples Inc., where her willingness to help others and
her unwavering positivity made her a beloved member of the team.
In her later years, Janeen became more private, channeling her creativity into various
crafts such as crocheting, nail art, and hair braiding. Her gifted hands turned every
project into something extraordinary. When she wasn’t crafting, Janeen cherished time
spent with her best friend, Angie Hylton, and her daughter, Nicole Hylton. Their
adventures included beach trips, shopping excursions, and family gatherings, where
Janeen delighted everyone with her signature ham or pot roast. She had a remarkable
ability to share stories that evoked smiles and laughter, reminding us of all of the fond
