Clement P. Durachko, 96, of Clarence, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Born on November 28, 1928, in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Martin J. and Anna M. (Pavlik) Durachka. On May 10, 1952, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Renovo, he married the love of his life, Georgia A. Watt. Geogia passed away on March 24, 2020.
Clement was a proud graduate and president of the Snow Shoe High School graduating class of 1948. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949. He attended boot camp in Austin, Texas; served primarily in Alaska and flew missions over the Pacific during the Korean war conflict. He was very proud of his military service.
After serving in the Air Force, Clement attended Penn State earning his certificate as an electric arc welder, and following with plan reading and architectural details. He went to work as a Pipe Fitter / Steam Fitter, for the Local 520 Union in Harrisburg. He retired in 1994 after 50 plus years of service. During his tender in the Union, he worked on some large projects, such as Beaver Stadium and 3 Mile Island Nuclear Plant. He was always available to help people in need. He assisted many in getting out of Renovo during the 1972 flood.
Clement, was a life member of Queen of Archangels Parish, St. Michaels Church in Clarence. He was a lifelong active member in the church, being an Altar Server for many years. He was a founding member of Sugar Camp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, trapping, and tinkering in his garage. He was an avid Penn State fan.
Clement was a very devoted son, husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his children: Alice A. Stedman and her husband, Reginald, of Bellefonte, David L. Durachko and his wife, Benildes, of Clarence, Ellen M. Durachko Feeney of Otisfield, ME, and Martin G. Durachko of New Bethlehem, PA; daughter in-law, Leta (Gosse) Durachko of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada; seven grandchildren, Letitia Vasconez (Christian), Paul D. Saylor, Sami Jo Durachko (James), Walter P. Feeney (Abigail), Crystal M. Durachko (Jessi), Mary V. Bryce (Ansel Critchfield), Caroline A. Feeney, Tarcila Gaspar Vieira, and Karen Luana Gaspar Santos; nine great grandchildren: Anysha, Emma, Luther, Caylan, Luna de Fatima, Arthur Valente, Evanildo Marques Vieira Neto, Mateo Vasconez, and Raquel Vasconez
He is also survived by two sisters: Eleanor Punda of Granger, IN, and Helen Paladino of Long Island, NY.
Along with his parents and wife, Clement was preceded in death by his son, Clement J. Durachko, son in-law, Paul W. Feeney, daughter in-law, Lori Durachko, great granddaughter, Adelaide Vasconez, five brothers: Andrew Durachko, Sylvester Durachka, Martin Durachko, Adolph Durachko, and Vincent Durachko, and four sisters: Marie Rogers, Anna Duke-Schreckengast, Agnes Durachka, and Pauline Troise.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 6-8pm, with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11am at the Queen of Archangels Parish Church in Clarence with Father Michael Wolfe officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow Mass at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery.
