Ernest "Len" Grebe Obituary

Ernest L. (Len) Grebe II-born March 20, 1939, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 3, 2018. Len was born in Bay City, Texas to Frances and Ernie Grebe. Len is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sybil Grebe; children Jennifer Grebe, Angela and Richard Parr, and Dean and Kelly Dendy; grandchildren Ethan Bourgeois, Charlie and Elliana Dendy, Trevor Sherwood, Macey and Travis Parr, sister Carol Sims, sister-in-law Sharon Grebe, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends David and Mande Hurley. Len is preceded in death by his parents, brother Herbert Grebe and his daughter’s mother, Dianne LeBleu Grebe. Len attended Bellaire High School and is a graduate of Riverside Military Academy, Atlanta, Georgia and Texas AM University. Gig ‘em Aggies! Len was an active member of Houston’s First Baptist Church, a Mason for 50 years and Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was a “mud engineer” and began his career in the oil field at a young age working beside his dad. Following graduation, he spent many years working for Baroid, Merck, Kelco and Halliburton, plus others. During his career, he received three patents for innovations in drilling fluids. Len enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling with family and friends and playing games with family, especially his grandchildren. A visitation for Len will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Houston’s First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following at 11:00 a.m.. The burial will take place at Woodlawn Garden of Memories at 12:30 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Len’s honor to C.H.A.R.M. prison ministry, P. O.
