Agnes Faye Berryhill Day was born on March 9, 1926 in Maysville, OK, and passed away on December 2, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK. Faye was the daughter of Josh Robert and Anna Pearl (Easley) Berryhill. The family lived in Ada, OK for several years and then moved to Oklahoma City. Faye married Richard Earl Day on July 29, 1945, when he returned from WWII after being liberated from a POW camp in Poland. Faye and Richard had 3 children, Richard, Lawrence and Candace. They were stationed in a diverse number of locations to include Oklahoma, California, Alaska, Texas, England, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Alaska (again), North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey and were finally able to retire to their beloved Colorado. They returned to Oklahoma in 1983.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband Richard, Sr. (1998), her son Lawrence (2018), her son-in-law Franklin (2024), her parents, 8 siblings, and one great grandson Owen Day.
Faye is survived by Richard (Barbara) Day Jr. of Jacksonville, FL. Candace Simpson of Midwest City, OK, and Carol Day (Larry’s widow) of Colorado Springs, CO. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Faye is survived by 2 sisters, Josephine Gottman and Laveda Kelly Ballard and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Charles Clark of VA and many church friends and neighbors.
Faye enjoyed her hobbies and crafts and was so talented at them. She was a sewer, quilter, gardener, knitter and china painter. She belonged to the World Organization of China Painters and enjoyed their friendship and talent and the local garden club. She will be remembered for her vintage inspired framed Christmas tree wall hangings that were made from jewelry collected over many years. Faye loved to read the Bible and especially John Grisham and Charles Martin novels. Faye always kept a meticulous home and people always enjoyed her pecan and cherry pies.
