MINNEHAN, John “JD” Dawson Jr, 21, of North Carolina passed away October 20, 2018. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, graduated from Anclote High School in 2016, and was baptized Christian. JD was a lance corporal for the United States Marines Corps and proudly served for one and a half years since May of 2017. He was also an entrepreneur and owned his own business in North Carolina, known as Bright Side Painting. JD was a charming personality and elderly folks loved him. Among his other traits, he was creative, motivated, family-oriented, protective, stubborn, determined, and strong. His favorite activities included fishing, shooting, drawing, and being a prankster. His loved ones fondly recall that he was the best shower singer, always there for anyone, and could put a smile on anyone’s face. JD is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and his uncle James Minnehan. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Minnehan; father, John Dawson Minnehan Sr and his wife, Joanna Minnehan; mother, Ann M. Minnehan; sister, Tori Minnehan; two half-sisters; two step-sisters; one step-brother; his dog, Smalls; many nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many brothers and sisters of the US Marines Corps. A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 pm on October 28, 2018 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service and interment is to follow at 10:00 am on October 30, 2018 at Florida National Cemetery.
