Charles (Chuck) O'Meara

Charles (Chuck) O'Meara aka C.W. Vrtacek, 65, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly while stacking wood on October 20, 2018. Chuck was adopted shortly after birth and grew up in Old Saybrook, CT. At age 11, he discovered his life passion of playing guitar. After studying painting and sculpture at Cooper Union, he went on to become a prolific, internationally recognized composer and multi-instrumentalist. He led and contributed to many musical collaborations throughout his life that were distributed world-wide, including the Connecticut instrumental avant-rock band, Forever Einstein, the experimental electronic music collective, Biota, and as a solo artist. An artist of many forms, Chuck is known for his satirical cartoons, fine art photography, irreverent humor, and passion for social justice. Chuck married his long-time partner, Lucinda (Pinchot) in Durham, CT in 1998. He described the best day of his life as the day they adopted their daughter Cecile in 2001. He will be sorely missed by his family, Lucinda, Cecile O’Meara, and step-children Jeremy Pinchot (Lindsay Kroll), Leila Pinchot (Matt Wilson), and Ariel Pinchot, and his large network of friends.
