Thomas Virgil Swick, age 81 of Petersburg, WV passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at his home.  

Tom was born on April 25, 1943 in Petersburg, WV and was a son of the late Emmett Virgil Swick and Margaret Thelma Swick.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Mae (Whetzel) Swick in 2021. One brother, Curtis E. Swick; One sister, Arlena “Winkie” Sites; Brothers-in-law, Robert Toothman, Donald Sites and Toby Whetzel.

Tom is survived by one sister, Wanda L. Toothman of Petersburg, WV, sister-in-law, Gloria Swick of Amarillo, TX; three brothers-in-law, Donald Whetzel and wife Jenny of Augusta, WV, Billy Whetzel of Petersburg, WV and Dorman Whetzel of Petersburg, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Tom retired from Petersburg Blocks after 20 plus years. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking.  He was always willing to help neighbors and friends.

Tom’s family will receive family and friends on Tuesday from 11 AM – 1 PM (December 3, 2024) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral Service will begin at 1 PM in the chapel with Pastor Ted Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Whetzel Family Cemetery, Arthur, WV.
