Dr. Franklin Grant Reed, age 87, of Walbridge, OH passed away at home with his family near his side, on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born on July 18, 1937 to Harry G. and Melba E. (Greenwood) Reed in Johnson City, NY. He was blessed with two daughters from a previous marriage. He later found love again and married Margaret Franz on April 29, 1995 in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Reed and Margaret have celebrated over 29 years of marriage together.

Dr. Reed worked as a phychiatrist for various institutions and in private practice for over 30 years. He was a champion for the environment. He enjoyed listening, singing, and playing music of all kinds of music. He loved being outdoors sailing, hiking (especially the Adirondack’s), and scuba diving. He was a member of the Harbor View Yacht Club which conveyed his love of sailing. Nevertheless, it was his family that remained his greatest joy!

In addition to his wife Margaret, Dr. Reed is survived by his two daughters: Christine Reed Clodfelter of Oak Ridge, NC, and Natasha (Dan) DeVoe of Manchester, England. Grandchildren: Elias (Anna) Devoe, Teagan (Natalie Zavoral) DeVoe, Thalia DeVoe, Caroline Clodfelter, Helen Clodfelter, and Clark Clodfelter. Brother; Grant (Connie) Reed, sisters: Mary Williams, and Melba Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, and the mother of his children; Eleni Gillis.

There are no public services at this time. However, the family plans on hosting a Memorial Service at a future date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: A Humane Society of the donor’s choice, St. John’s Lutheran Church, or any charity of the donor’s choice.
