Funeral services will be held Thursday December 5th at 3:00pm in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel for Felix “Lee” Leewood Begnaud, age 82, who passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at HCA Kingwood Hospital in Kingwood, TX.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.

Musical selections will be provided by Angela Comeaux, accompanied by Phyllis Simar The songs will be Amazing Grace, Be Not Afraid, How Great Thou Art, and Here I Am Lord.

Felix, known by “Lee”, was born in Rayne, Louisiana. His family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana where he met his high school sweetheart who later became his wife of sixty-four years. He retired from AT&T after working twenty-eight years as a technician and analyst. He served as a Eucharistic Minister for thirty years and was a devoted Christian. His outgoing personality poured love to everyone he met. During his quiet times, he and his wife would reminisce on the joyful events in their life. His heart will be forever full with love from his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Ronnie Begnaud of Lafayette, LA and currently Kingwood, TX; two sons, Bret Begnaud and his wife, Velma, of Carencro, LA, and Bryan Begnaud and his partner, Jodie Sonnier, of Scott, LA; two daughters, Angela B. Travis and her husband, Todd, of Humble, TX and Allison B. Pontiff and her husband, Craig, of Kingwood, TX; his grandchildren, Megan Schuchart (Trent) of Houston, TX, Jessica Krause (Parker) of Klein, TX, Brooke B. Monson (Johnny) of Lafayette, Hunter Pontiff and Aaron Pontiff both of Kingwood, TX; his great grandchildren, Kehlani and Maevry Krause, and August and Archie Schuchart; and his sister, Janel Barthe and her husband, Larry, of Metairie, LA.

He is preceded in death by his father, Nolan Begnaud; his mother, Alice Begnaud; and three brothers, Infant Joseph Begnaud, Francis Nolan Begnaud, and Patrick Begnaud.

The family requests visiting hours be observed from 5:00pm until 9:00pm, Wednesday and will continue from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Kingwood Village Estates for their love and support shown over the last five years; to Dr. Frank Sarfo; and the many other doctors and hospital staff of HCA Kingwood Hospital who gave critical care to Felix.
