James (Jim, Jimbo) Supitkowsky, a cherished Brother, Uncle, and Friend, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born on September 19, 1963, to the late Joseph and Jean (Porter) Supitkowsky.
Jim grew up in Dorchester, with his large family on Hallet Street. He was proud to be from Dorchester (OFD!). He is survived by his siblings: Joseph Supitkowsky and his wife Maureen of East Bridgewater; Jean Dibble and her husband Stephen of Salem; Judi Mahon and her husband Gerry of Braintree; Jackie Delaney and her husband Paul of Weymouth; and Joann Viselli and her husband Peter of Salem. He was predeceased by his sister Janet (Supitkowsky) Melchionda. Jim was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He never missed an opportunity to show his love through thoughtful gifts and family time spent together.
Jim was a graduate of Norfolk County Agricultural High School. He then went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, Jim continued to serve his community with the United States Postal Service, where his strong work ethic and dedication to his duties were evident to all who knew him. He developed many lifelong friendships with the residents on his route in Hyde Park.
An adventurous spirit, Jim had a passion for travel and loved spending his winters in sunny Florida and summers on Cape Cod. He found comfort in nature, often hiking the Blue Hills and was a talented landscaper who could turn a patch of soil into a work of art. Jim's love for music was profound with the 80s classic hard rock providing the soundtrack to many memorable moments in his life.
Jim was a funny, kind, and generous soul. He touched many lives with his sense of humor and quick wit. His presence and warm smile were a source of comfort to all, and his ability to listen, without judgment, made him a trusted confidant.
As we bid farewell to our Brother, Uncle and Friend, we do so with heavy hearts and gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with him..
Jim will be deeply, deeply missed.
