Janet “Audene” (Williams) Schaetzke passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the age of 94. She lived the majority of her life in Toledo, the most recent 10 years being at The Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee, Ohio.

Audene was born in Danville, Illinois on April 1, 1930 to George and Bernice (Siddens) Williams. After relocating to Toledo Ohio, she ultimately graduated from Waite High School where she met her husband. Audene and James (Jim) Schaetzke were married on October 15, 1950. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Audene’s greatest joy was being with family. She is survived by her sons, Daniel Schaetzke of Luna Pier, Michigan, and David (Wendy) Schaetzke of Toledo, Ohio, and daughter Deb (Paul) Bucher of Monclova Ohio; grandchildren Erik (Elizabeth) Schaetzke, Ethan (Vida) Schaetzke, Jason (Amanda) Schaetzke, Kyle (Ashlee) Schaetzke, Elizabeth (John) Bowler, Andrew (Rochelle) Schaetzke, Emily Schaetzke, Allyson (Anna) Petersen, and Matthew (Jean) Bucher; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Winston, Rocko, Tyler, Carter, Chloe, Beau, Brooks, Grace, Charlotte, JD, Jett, Ellie, Mary, Leo, Max and Vinny. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, son Donald Schaetzke, and brother Sherman Williams.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale, Toledo. Burial will be on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:30 am at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
