Teresea Ann Pumphrey Obituary

Teresea Ann Pumphrey, 49, of Ireland, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, while under the compassionate care of Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

Teresea was born in Weston on July 24, 1975, a daughter of Roger D. Pumphrey and Janet Ilene Sprouse Pumphrey Ware. Teresea was a cherished daughter, beloved sister, loving aunt, and loyal friend.

Teresea was a graduate of Braxton County High School, Class of 1993, and went on to serve as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Lewis County Senior Center. Teresea found immense joy in her work, committing herself fully to the wellbeing of those in her care. Her hobbies reflected her joyous nature and love for life. She was an avid reader of romance novels, an enthusiastic player of Bingo, and had a passion for singing and dancing. Teresea also found solace in the great outdoors, often going camping with her family at Wildcat, and took immense pleasure in country drives. Her love for her nieces and nephews was unparalleled, and she treated them as if they were her own children.

Teresea is survived by her father, Roger Pumphrey and companion, Liz Rayner, of Wooster, OH; mother, Janet Ware and husband, Pete, of Ireland; two siblings: Roger A Pumphrey and wife, Betty, of Weston, and Beth Wheeler and husband, Frank, of Welaka, FL; two half-brothers: Roger D. Pumphrey II of Creston, OH, and Tommy Pumphrey of Wooster, OH; one step-sister, Kathy McCune and husband, Mike, of Smithville, OH; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and close friends: Bobby and Eulaine Lake. Teresea was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Sue Sprouse; and her beloved K-9 companion, Baby Boy. Her family and friends will remember her as a beacon of warmth and caring. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "It is not length of life, but depth of life," and Teresea lived a life full of depth, touching many with her kindness and compassion.
