Fred Emerson (Fredrick Gerald Emerson) November 30, 1941 – November 29 2024 With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Fred Emerson, just one day shy of his 83rd birthday. Fred was a pillar of strength, love, and humor in the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose legacy will be cherished forever. Fred was the beloved husband of Betty Emerson, sharing 62 wonderful years together in a marriage filled with love and partnership. He was the cherished son of the late William (Bill) Emerson and Florence Emerson, and a devoted brother to Nancy Crawford (late Glenn Crawford), Jerry Mayhew, Eileen Liscombe (late Smokey Liscombe), Margorie Scarr Hopper (late Peter Hopper), Alec Emerson (late Donna), Patsy Reid (late John Reid), Donny Emerson (wife Jane), and Shelda Schmidt (husband Tom). Fred was also a dear brother-in-law to the late Milton Fisher, Gloria Boucher (the late Cary Boucher), Judy Murphy, Valerie & George Toner, Laura & Dale Hamilton, and Calvin & Dee Dee Fisher. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, who adored his warmth and humor. As a proud and loving father to Terry Emerson and Penny Emerson Knapp, and a devoted father-in-law to Bruce Knapp, Fred found immense joy in his family. He was the heart and soul of his grandchildren’s lives, loving Timothy, Brandon, Melissa, and the late Christopher unconditionally. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Tristan, Olivia, Kamryn, Lukas, and Chelsea, who will carry forward his memory and values. Fred was known for his unwavering work ethic, honesty, and generous spirit. He had a knack for making people laugh with his sharp wit and unforgettable jokes. He was the type of man who would selflessly give the shirt off his back to help others, earning the respect and admiration of everyone he met. The world will feel a little emptier without Fred, but the memories of his love, laughter, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held in the spring
