Harry Jordan III, a beacon of strength and love, left this world on November 29, 2024, at the age of 48, in the same city where his story began, Chicago, Illinois. Born on December 17, 1975 to his parents Brenda Jordan and the late Harry Jordan, Jr., his journey was one marked by an unwavering passion for life, a deep love for his family, and a courageous spirit that inspired everyone he met. He will now be joined in the hands of God with his father, grandmother Willeta Walker, and Great Grandmother Christine Turner.
Harry's life was a testament to the power of love and determination. He shared a beautiful and cherished partnership with his wife, Erika (Pizarro), Together, they raised three wonderful children—Damian, Jazzmin, and Vanessa—who were the pride and joy of Harry's world. His siblings, Christopher Jordan, Shana (Derry) Rogers, Kortnei (Ahmed) Robinson and Jasmine Jackson, his cousin Tammy Moore amongst a host of other relatives, stood by him as pillars of support. Harry's family was his refuge, his source of happiness and strength.
A man of many passions, Harry's enthusiasm for bodybuilding and fitness was infectious. He sculpted his life much like he sculpted his physique, with dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence. He inspired many to join him on the same fitness journey he was on to better their health and overall confidence. He used the gym as a sanctuary to clear his mind, relieve stress, improve his general health, and to just have a good time.
Harry also enjoyed playing video games, watching all sports, listening to his favorite songs at the highest volume, singing, and was also a movie and TV buff. Harry's love for his dog Lilly was yet another reflection of his capacity for deep affection and companionship. A true enthusiast at heart, Harry's fandom for superheroes and the Muppets brought out the childlike wonder in him which showed how the little things could make people happy.
In the face of adversity, Harry's courage shone the brightest. After surviving AVM, brain surgery, a stroke, amongst other challenges, he channeled his experience into helping others by proudly starting a support group, Living After Stroke, for stroke survivors at UIC Hospital. He became an advocate and inspiration, guiding others through their darkest times with empathy and understanding. His ability to help turn personal misfortunes into victories was nothing short of remarkable. He always spoke honestly and freely while giving encouragement to never give up.
Harry Jordan III lived a life that was loving, brave, and passionate. These words, however, only scratch the surface of a man whose very presence could motivate and uplift those around him. He had an infectious smile and a commanding presence, but was a softie at heart who just wanted to have fun.
As we remember Harry, let us not dwell on the loss but celebrate the legacy of a man who lived fully and loved deeply. His journey may have reached its physical end, but the impact of his life continues to ripple through the lives of those he touched. Harry's story is a reminder to embrace each day with the same fervor and heart that he did.
No weapon formed against him ever prospered.
