Kay Louise Shaw, 84, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Born in Troy, Ohio on November 15, 1940, Kay went on to live in Alexandria and Hot Springs, Virginia, and spent time in New Mexico before returning to Fredericksburg, VA to be closer to her daughter and family.
Kay was an award-winning golfer, beginning at the age of 10 years old. A nine-time Virginia State Golf Amateur Champion, Kay played her last tournament in 2005 at The Homestead, where she won five of her nine titles over the years.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianna Louise Richey (Vincent Allen Richey); granddaughters Ashley Louise Mordino and Cristina Richey (Ryan Skipper); and great-grandchildren Scylus Singletary, Ava Harden, and Elijah Harden.
