Therese Catherine Kueny (nee Murphy), beloved wife of Joseph Jacques “Jack” Kueny passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the age of 82. Therese was born in Scranton, PA, to the late Michael and Anne (Gaughan) Murphy. Therese grew up on Ferdinand Street, attended Holy Rosary Parish School and graduated from Marywood University with degrees in Education, English, and Chemistry. Therese was a devoted wife and mother, with a passion for the English language, she was an avid reader of classic literature and good fiction, and a special gifted devotion for teaching children. Therese taught at middle and high schools in Whitney Point, NY, Fayetteville, NC, and in the Philadelphia area for the Norristown and Colonial School Districts. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and taught CCD, having received the St. Pius X Award, a national catechetical award presented to those who have given ten years of service to parish religious education. Most of all, Therese was a devoted wife and mother whose warmth, care, and love was felt by all who knew her. Her gift for connecting with others, her love for conversations and storytelling were special traits to be admired.

In addition to her husband Jack, she is survived by her two children, Jacqueline O'Doherty (Brian) and Joe Kueny (Megan), her four grandchildren Kelly, Brianna, Joseph “Jack”, and Michael “Mick”, her sister Frances Carlson (William), two sisters-in-law Barbara Murphy and Sabina Murphy, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ellen Preiss (Richard), Marie Brennan (John “Jack”), Joan Dutka (Joseph), Joseph Murphy and Jerome Murphy.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Rd., Plymouth Meeting, PA.
