Marie B. "Murph" Mastromatto died peacefully on November 29, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on March 28, 1935, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to Anthony and Josephine Serrao. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert S. "Tootie" Mastromatto, in 2018, and her siblings and their spouses, Catherine (Joe) Wallace, Frank (Jean) Serrao, Sam (Rose) Serrao, Josephine DelPopolo, and Angela (Jim) Iennaco.
Marie was a proud cheerleader and graduate of Ambler High School, Class of 1952. In the 1970s, her passion for youth and sports led her to become a cheer coach for the Wissahickon Athletic Club, fostering the spirit of teamwork and resilience in young athletes. She also owned and operated Jo-Mar Ceramics in downtown Ambler.
Marie spent 25 years as a Quality Control Inspector for Narco and 14 years for Thompson Micro Electrics until her retirement in 2000.
Marie's greatest joys were her children and granddaughters. She especially enjoyed living with John and Theresa for the last four years.
Marie is survived by her devoted sons: Thomas and his wife Holly of Chino Valley, AZ; John and his wife Theresa of North Wales, PA; and Albert Mastromatto Jr. of Surprise, AZ; her loving granddaughters Alexa, Mia, and Sophia Mastromatto; and 64 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Vito DelPopolo of Georgia.
Marie cherished the time spent traveling to visit family in Arizona, Hawaii, Florida, and Georgia, creating lasting memories and connections. Marie was an enthusiastic fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, along with all local sports teams. Marie's spirited nature resonated with those who shared her passion. Her love for life also extended to the simple joys found in bingo evenings and delightful dinners shared with her dear friend, Diane Neary.
Family and friends are invited to gather after 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA. Her family will share Words of Remembrance at 10:15 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass with Rev. James McGuinn as celebrant. The interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, PA.
