It is with a heavy heart that we must convey that our mother, LeVonda Stephenson Clouse, passed away at her home in Warrensville, NC on November 27th, 2024.

LeVonda's life began on October 21st, 1941 in Angier, NC to parents Zelma and Guy Stephenson. She received her bachelor's degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and her Master's degree from NCSU. She went on to become a respected North Carolina high school teacher in Chemistry and Physics. She taught for many years in communities in the Raleigh area where she then transferred to Sparta until her retirement.

LeVonda loved spending time with family and friends. She was selfless to many people and even many four-legged furry friends. She enjoyed volunteering at Riverview and was an enthusiastic member of the local garden club. Flowers were her passion. She spent many hours maintaining gardens for those less fortunate, as well as her own family. She loved clogging, hiking, canoeing, and square dancing.

LeVonda is predeceased by her loving husband Bernard Clouse, and her brother Ray Stephenson (Kris). She is survived by her brother Guy Stephenson (Pansy), and daughters Lori Hooks (Jimmy) and Jeri Bakhteyar (Shane). Her five grandchildren include Joshua Hooks (Jill), Emily Conolty (Robert), James Hooks (Brianna), Zarie Bakhteyar (Jacob), and Cyrus Bakhteyar. Her legacy also includes seven great grandchildren.

LeVonda was kind, independent, classy and was affectionally know as "Nanu" by many. May she and Bernard (Butch) find peace in the afterlife forever overlooking the mountain view they loved so much.
