It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher A. Glaub, a devoted father and loving papa. Chris passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline, at age 69, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
Chris was born May 24, 1955, in Moline, IL, to Francis and Frances (Kruzich) Glaub. He graduated from United Township High School in 1973 and married Lori Chick in 1986, yet later divorced. He worked as a dedicated tool and die maker for McLaughlin Body for many years.
Chris was a man who always worked with his hands and took immense pride in his craft. He constantly dreamed up innovative ideas, some of which came to life, such as the Magic Buttoner. He was an avid golfer before his disability made it too difficult, yet even then, he remained a devoted fan of the game, as well as of the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. His granddaughters were the absolute joy of his life, and he loved them beyond measure.
Chris’s survivors include his son, Christopher S. (Hannah) Glaub of Silvis; his twin granddaughters, Chloe and Lily Glaub; his brothers, Francis (Donna) Glaub of Carbondale, IL, and Gregory Glaub of Ankeny, IA; and his nephews, niece, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia Glaub.
Family and friends are invited to memorial services on Monday, December 9, 4-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL.
