Asheville – Norma Jean Worley, 90, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, November 29, 2024, at her residence.
A native of Paris, TN, she resided in Buncombe County since 1981. She was a daughter of the late J.D. Ray Carrington and Adell Crawford Carrington, and the wife of the late Roy Clay Worley. She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Worley; sister, Dorothy Fay Roberts and husband Kenneth; and brother, Junior Ray Carrington
Mrs. Worley was a longtime member of Georgetown Baptist Church. She loved life and had a bright personality that brought joy to those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially around the supper table. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Barbara Jean Ramey and husband Rev. Ron Ramey; daughter-in-law, Jackie Worley; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from noon until 1 PM at the funeral home.
