ALAN R. DIEDRICH, 66, of Springfield passed away on November 27, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1958, in Parma, Ohio to his parents James and Mary (Boyd) Diedrich.

Alan was a 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University. Following graduation, he pursued a successful career as a horticulturist, enjoying the outdoors and learning about the beauty of nature around him. He continued in this career for the majority of his life, and among his love of nature, developed a love for ice fishing. When he wasn’t working or ice fishing, you could find Alan cheering on his favorite sports teams: his alma mater, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and his favorite hockey teams the Red Wings and the Kalamazoo Wings. Alan was a kind soul who will be missed by all who knew him.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of over forty years Paula (Boggs) Diedrich, siblings Steve (Lydia) Diedrich, Dave (Paula) Diedrich, and Amy (Greg) Faustina as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

A memorial service for Alan will be held on Monday December 2, 2024, at 11:00am at LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with a reception to follow in The Landing at Littleton & Rue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
