BARRE/GREER, SC - Thomas Frances Taylor, 79, passed away peacefully at Sterling Village on November 27, 2024 with brother-in-law Joe Petracone and sister-in-law Rosemary Petracone by his side.

Tom was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, the son of the late George and Mary Taylor, on May 15, 1945. He was a graduate of Barre High School and continued school earning a bachelor's degree from WPI and then his master's degree from Northeastern University both in mechanical engineering. He was employed by GE for 43 years before retiring in 2010. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of Second Lieutenant as a field engineer stationed in Germany.

Tom was an avid golfer. He loved his yearly golf trips to Myrtle Beach with the guys from GE and also loved spending time at Cape Cod with Jeanne. While Tom was stationed in Germany, he and Jeanne were very fortunate to tour Europe. Tom loved living in Greer, SC. The warm weather allowed him to pretty much golf all year round.

Tom leaves behind his sister, Kathy Taylor, sister-in-law, Rosemary Petracone, brother -in-laws, John Petracone and his wife Diana, Joseph Petracone, Jr. and Michelle, and Michael Petracone and his wife Margo, Aunt Sister Rose Aliquo; 3 nephews, a niece, 3 grandnephews; and 2 grandnieces. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Jeanne Petracone Taylor, on September 15, 2024.

He will be greatly missed by everyone.

The funeral for Tom will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, with an 11:00 a.m. Mass in St. Thomas A Becket Church, Vernon Avenue, S. Barre. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Barre. Arrangements are under the care of Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 South Barre Road, Barre, MA.
