Deborah Scott, 70, of Salem, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was born on October 6, 1954 to Ronald Alvin and Emma “Christine” Morris and raised in Botetourt County, Virginia. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.

Deborah was a devout Christian who attended Fellowship Community Church in Salem. She was known as a “Prayer Warrior” always praying for her family, loved ones, and friends. Deborah had an outgoing and friendly nature that suited her career in retail, over the years she worked for many stores in the area including Heironimus and Macy’s. But most of all, Deborah loved her family, especially her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She never forgot to call, check in, or send a card to her loved ones. Deborah enjoyed going shopping and dining out with her husband. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend.

Deborah is survived by her husband of 27 years, William “Doug” Scott; her sister, Patricia Spivey (Gary); brother, Ronald Morris (Becky); sister, Marie Scheidt (Cal); her special nieces and nephews, Heather, Brooke (Trae), MaKena (Wes), Chad (Nicole), Matt, Jennifer (Trevor), Hannah, and Charlie; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lewis Gale Medical Center for their compassionate care during this difficult time.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with Pastors Ken Nienke and John T. Cahill officiating. Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. We will be live-streaming the service from our website @ www.oakeys.com for those who cannot attend.
