Elmer Charles Green, 80, of Blytheville, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at his home.
Born in Blytheville to Hubert and Clarice Kenchen Green, Elmer was retired from Heekin-Ball Canning Company. He was a member of Ruddle Road Church of God. Elmer loved to sing Southern Gospel music and sang with the Good News singers. He also could play several instruments and enjoyed playing and singing in various churches, nursing homes, and the Mississippi County Senior Citizens Center. He was a volunteer worker at Blytheville Food Pantry.
In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by seven brothers, Billy Thomas, Arlie, Denny, Ronnie, Tommy, Roy and Leon.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Hulsey Green of the home; three children, Scott Green and wife Hope of Senatobia, Mississippi, Stephen Green and Stephanie Moody of Boone, North Carolina, and Rusty Green and wife Juliana of Fairhope, Alabama; two brothers, Bobby Green and Timmy Green, both of Blytheville; three sisters, Barbara Gray of Branson, Missouri, Wilma Byrd of Pocahontas, Arkansas; and Tammy Quach of Gosnell, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
