Lorraine Deschene, 90, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Friday morning, November 29, 2024 at North Star Manor in Warren, MN with her husband by her side.

Lorraine Kasprick was born on April 16, 1934, in Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Pietrzak) Kasprick. She was one of nine children. She attended grade school at Bigwoods Country School and attended one year at Oslo High School. Lorraine was raised on the farm. She also did housekeeping jobs.

She met her special guy, Richard, in June of 1950 and they continued dating and the following June they were engaged. They married on October 3, 1951. Richard entered the Army on January 22, 1953 and after basic training was stationed in Korea. He was discharged on December 26, 1953.

They were blessed with two children: Steve and Beverly. Lorraine would help out on the farm wherever needed as she could operate all the farm equipment. In 1994, they retired and spent 22 winters in Mesa, AZ until 2017.

Lorraine was a beautiful, strong and incredibly hard working woman. She was a wonderful wife and mother and she loved and cared for her family. She set an example of God's grace and beauty for others to see. She was a wonderful cook, catered weddings for 17 years and was a meticulous housekeeper. Lorraine was on the the St. Rose Bazaar committee for many years and enjoyed working with people. She loved to sew and embroidered many dish towels. Lorraine loved gardening and working with flowers. She was a prayerful person and said many Rosaries every day. She helped many people and offered prayers for them. Lorraine was a lifelong Catholic and after her marriage became a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She was the church's first lady Eucharistic minister. She was also a choir member for many years. Lorraine was a member of the Argyle Historical Society where she enjoyed doing many things, especially at the Meet Your Neighbor Days celebration serving food and visiting with friends. Lorraine loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of each and everyone of them.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Beverly (Roy) Lunde of Thief River Falls, MN; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Deschene of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Scott (Sara) Deschene, Jason Deschene, Michael Lunde and Derek (Ashley) Lunde; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Thull, Kaige Deschene, Kameron Deschene and Asher Lunde; great-great-grandson, Arnie; sister, Diane Bravo and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve, sisters, Tillie Kasprick, Frances Kasprick, Stephany Neil, Eleanor Gust, Elaine Koenen, Darlene Dahl and brother, Ernest “Sonny” Kasprick.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN
