Faye Winston Presley, age 82, of White Hall, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born April 29, 1942 at Sheridan, she was the daughter of the late Shaw Winston and Ophie Lunsford Winston. Faye grew up in the Dollarway area and graduated from Dollarway High School. She also attended Arkansas State Teacher’s College (now UCA).
Throughout her adult life, Mrs. Presley worked in the Dollarway School District from 1972 until 1996. During her time as a professional, she built many lifelong relationships that have carried on for many years.
Mrs. Presley was a faithful lifelong member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. If you knew Faye, you knew that she loved the Lord endlessly and was always willing to serve in whatever capacity she was able. Faye’s life of serving God’s people included nursery, VBS, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and as a faithful member of Ruth Circle. She also served many years as the church secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Alisa Lynn Presley; five sisters, Frances Harrison, Lorene Blocker, Odell Spakes, Betty Webb, and her twin, Maye Fontaine.
Survivors include her husband, Gaylon Presley, whom she married on November 24, 1960; three daughters, Gaye Presley Mings (Harold), Melinda Presley Smith (Chris), and Melissa Presley Keen (Larry); six grandchildren, Sydney Thompson (Clinton), Mallory Hamm (Evan), Spencer McClure (Katlyn), Preston Keen, Abby Couture (David), Ethan Smith (Julianna); three great-grandchildren, Ruby and Mac Thompson and Rosie McClure and one sister, Shirley Sizemore.
Faye was happiest when she was spending time with her precious family. There was nothing more special to her than spending time with her husband, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether that was at home or traveling, being together was what she cherished most.
