Dennis Joe Boots, 64, passed away peacefully at home on November 28,2024. A celebration will be planned for a later date. Private interment will be at Waukee Cemetery, Waukee, Iowa.

Dennis was born in Des Moines to Donald J. and Della M. (Weaver) Boots on June 22, 1960. The family lived in Waukee, Iowa and he graduated from Waukee High School. He received his associates degree from the National Education Center in 1989.

Dennis had a long and varied career, most recently working as a utility locator for USIC. He enjoyed restoring his 1984 GMC pickup, showing at many car shows and collecting many trophies. He belonged to two car clubs, Concrete Cruizers and Rollin Relics. He also liked to build and run his extensive train set. He enjoyed fishing, leather work, 3D printing and making regular donations to the casino.

Dennis is survived by his sister, Lynn (Keith) Wilson; one niece and two nephews and their families, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald R. Boots.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Dennis.
