Elucteria “Lou” Herrera passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on Wednesday November 27, 2024. She was born in San Angelo, Texas, on July 14, 1950. She was a beautiful, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister who will be missed by many.


She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Johnny Herrera, two brothers Jerry Medina and Trine Jr. Medina, and one sister Olga Berkowitz. She is survived by her loving children Johnny Herrera Jr., Melissa Rivas, Chriselda Herrera, Dion Herrera, Gabriel Herrera, and Jacqueline Herrera. She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, Ashley, Desiree, Miranda, Ericka, Amber, Christopher, Jackie, Jasmine, Aisha, Elijah, Jasiah, Josiah, Ezra, Armoni, Zakaya, Kiyarra, Jonas, lly, Haven, Jozeph, Hayden, Xavier, Gabby, Makaela, Isaiah, and Melody. They will forever cherish all the memories they created with her. She also leaves behind three sisters, Santos Hernandez, Mariana Gonzales, Lynn Medina, and one brother Roger Medina.


Those who knew Elucteria will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and gentleness. She approached every person and every situation with a heart full of empathy and a desire to help. Her influence will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to have been graced by her kindness.


Elucteria's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of family, and the power of a kind heart. As we say goodbye to this extraordinary woman, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will live on in the lives of those she loved and in the countless acts of kindness she inspired. Her memory will be cherished and her legacy will continue to light the way for generations to come.
