On Wednesday, November 27th, 2024, Eve Suzanne Romand-Heuyer, 18, passed away peacefully in her home in Kensington, Maryland. She was the beloved daughter of Pierre Romand-Heuyer, Sebastien Laulan, and Minette Bryant; the charming twin sister of Vincent Romand-Heuyer, and loving niece and friend to many.
Eve was born as a twin on February 5th, 2006. When she was a baby, she suffered from RSV. Throughout her life, she had speech barriers, limited mobility, and developmental disabilities. Despite multiple surgeries and years of fighting, everyone remembered Eve for one thing: her smile. Everywhere she went, she would magically fill the room with joy and laughter without needing to say a single word. She loved to sing, draw, write, read, and go to school. Every morning, the beam of joy in her eyes reflects her as she talks enthusiastically about going to school. Before getting dropped off, she would press her cheek along the car window, smiling at the other students. Eve was in the LFI program at Walter Johnson High School, which enabled her to get hands-on job experience as a special needs student. All of her classmates, peers, and teachers loved her presence and were excited to see her every day. Additionally, Eve had a memorable relationship with the family dog, Sky. She had a love for dogs and was always excited to play with Sky after school, feed her a little bite at the dinner table, and cuddle with her. Eve was a fighter, adventurer, and joy spreader. Despite her speech barrier, everyone could feel the warmth and love that she displayed. She was an inspiration to many and will continue to spread joy in our hearts from the tender loving care of God.
We all remember her laughter and joie de vivre, her eyes sparkling with joy as she saw everything as a source of inspiration and everyone as a friend. Her love of others and dedication to her teachers and classmates and love for her Best Buddies touched the soul of all those who knew her.
