BARBER; G. Marlene

Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, Niagara Falls on November 27th, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Wesley Barber (2011). Loving mother of Dale (Shopsc) and Monica Barber, Darlene Barber, and her fur baby Bella. Cherished grandmother of Maxine (Carl) and Joey. Marlene will be missed by her in laws Ken (Karen) Barber, † Leo (Joan) Huffman, Bernice (†Carl) Crone, Madeline Barber, Janet (†Frank) Zucchet, Ron (Nancy) Barber. Predeceased by her siblings Morley (Janet) Chapman, Muriel (Faye) Messner, Marilyn (Joe) Kenny, her sister in laws Marion Lawson, Lettie Snider, Helen Oord, Joan McCaffery and Lois Seaith. Special friend to Phyllis Gifford and Nancy Dewitt. A private family funeral service and interment has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday December 13th, 2024 from 1-4 pm at South Cayuga Community Church, 6182 Rainham Road, South Cayuga. If so desired, donations to Special Olympics-Haldimand would be appreciated by the family.

Marlene volunteered with Special Olympics Ontario Haldimand and was honored for over 30 years of dedication as their treasurer. She proudly retired from the Dunnville branch of the Royal Bank of Canada after 35 years of service as the very first woman to hold the position of Manager of Customer Service. Marlene was a caring, compassionate, and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by countless members of the community and fondly remembered by all who got the privilege of getting to know her.
