It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Albero, who died peacefully at 12:38 AM on November 29, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in the Bronx, NY, on May 24, 1936, Joseph was the son of the late Paul Ronald Carpenella and Tessie Rauso.
Joseph proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Navy, dedicating his life to protecting his fellow citizens during the Korean and Vietnam wars. His service to his country was a testament to his character and commitment to the greater good.
He married his beloved wife, Mary, on February 6, 1967, in Cecil County, Maryland. Together, they shared a life full of love and adventure. Joseph resided in several cities across the country, including the Bronx, Queens, and Daytona Beach, Florida, before settling in Oceanside, New York, where he spent his final years.
Joseph is survived by his siblings Carmella, Marie, Michael, Johanna, Anthony, Diana, Ann Marie, and Ellen, as well as his stepmother, Ellen. He leaves behind his brother-in-law Philip, sister-in-law Liz, and his cherished nephews and nieces: Anthony, Philip, Ross, Alyssa, Michael, Anthony James, Connor, Lisa, and many other family members, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his late wife Mary and his sister Phyllis, who passed before him.
Joseph had a lifelong passion for horse racing and an unwavering admiration for Frank Sinatra’s music, which was always a part of his home. His joy for life and his strong family bonds will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Joseph’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy of service, love, and laughter will never be forgotten.
