David B. Woodmansee, Sr. age 81, beloved husband to Beverly (Scovil) Woodmansee of Milford entered peaceful rest on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home.
He was the son of the late Merle B. and Arlene (Bennett) Woodmansee and was born on September 21, 1943 in Burlington, VT. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran and served during the Vietnam War. David was a Firefighter for the Milford Fire Department for 24 years before his retirement, during which he was one of the first EMT's and Paramedics. David was a mason with Ansantawae Lodge No. 89, a member of the American Legion Post 196, and the Irish Heritage Club all in Milford. He was also a past exalted ruler with the Milford Elks Club. Finally, he had been driving school buses for the Tirollo Bus Company.
In addition to his devoted wife, David leaves his children, David B. Woodmansee, Jr. of Springfield, MA, Cheryl Woodmansee of Milford, Blair Woodmansee (Lupita) of McKinney, TX, Jennifer Wieland (James) West Palm Beach, FL, Danielle Glass (Sydney) of Swanville, ME and Mary McKenna (Paul) Portsmith, RI. He also leaves his six grandchildren, Bryan, Blake, Isaac, Ailish, Brynn, and Caitlyn and a great grandson, Dean and his loving sister, Judy Hosking of Milford. His brother-in-law, Dick Hosking predeceased him.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. with a Masonic, American Legion and Elk's Service at 6:30 p.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment will be private.
