Edward Joseph Yackin, 89, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at his home in Willoughby.

Born April 2, 1935, in Cleveland, Edward lived in Willoughby for the past 51 years.

Edward was a proud Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. He retired from American National Can after 38 years, where he was a member of the AFL-CIO and served as president of U.S.W.A. Local 15489. Edward loved to read and enjoyed watching sports, especially football.

He was the beloved husband of Judy (nee Cooper) Yackin; loving father of Jeff Yackin, Tim (Kristen, nee Brown) Yackin and Steve (Kathleen, nee McCann) Yackin; cherished grandfather of Mac and Molly; and uncle of Bethany, Shawna, Casey, Rick, Alicia, Alex and Loren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (nee Krehel) Yackin; and siblings, Mike (Margaret) Yackin.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Willoughby Cemetery in Willoughby.
