Shirley Heubach Lee, 94, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at The Moorings in Arlington Heights, IL. The second of five children, Shirley was born on March 12, 1930 in Mobile, AL to the late Edward and Thelma Sketoe Heubach. She was the last of the five children to pass away. Edward and Thelma owned and operated Heubach Grocery in Mobile.

Shirley went to Nursing school in the 1950’s and worked for the Red Cross. On September 17, 1956, she married David Lee, who she met on a blind date, and bravely moved to Chicago, to settle and raise her own family. She loved all her family both in Mobile and her two sons(wives), two grandsons(wives), and five great grandchildren and a sixth on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Joyce Heubach Farr, Dorraine Heubach Imsand, Janet Heubach Stanfield and her brother Ronald Edward Heubach.

She is survived by children Robert Lee(Kimberly) and Douglas Lee(Lynette); grandchildren Darren Lee(Iris) and Brian Lee(Taylor); and five great-grandchildren Caleb Lee, Landon Lee, Audrey Lee, Keegan Lee and Karsten Lee.

Visitation will be held at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt Prospect from 4pm to 8pm.

Funeral Services will l be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 1pm St Mark Lutheran Church in Mt Prospect, IL followed by interment as the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
