Andrea Peterson (Edland)

Andrea Peterson, aged 45, of Pemberton, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born on March 22, 1979, in Rochester, she was the beloved daughter of Gary and Beverly Edland of Grand Meadow.

Andrea was a dedicated and compassionate individual who devoted her life to caring for others. She graduated as salutatorian from Grand Meadow High School in 1997 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing from Winona State University in 2001. Her career in nursing was marked by her service as an EMT for the Grand Meadow Ambulance Service and as a nurse at the Grand Meadow Nursing Home, Mayo Clinic Hospital in Mankato, and most recently at Whispering Creek Nursing Home in Janesville.

Andrea's life was enriched by her love for music and the arts, having played the flute in the band, sung in the choir, and acted in school musicals. She was an active member of the Future Leaders of America, the Girl Scouts, and was a confirmed member of the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church. Her passions extended beyond her professional life; she cherished time with her children, Tyler and Dakota, and enjoyed playing Words with Friends on her phone, collecting frog-themed items, and riding motorcycles with her fiancé, Nathan "Nate" Luhring.

Andrea is survived by her parents, Gary and Beverly Edland (Grand Meadow); her sister, Bernice Edland (Maplewood); her children, Tyler and Dakota (Pemberton); her fiancé, Nate (Pemberton); the father of her children, Robert Peterson (Eveleth); and aunts and uncles, Earl and Joyce Edland (Rose Creek); and John and Fern Moore (Apple Valley). She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, cherished by many cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fritz and Doris Edeen, and Gabriel and Florence Edland, and aunts and uncles.

Andrea will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorial service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday December 6, 2024 at Grand Meadow Lutheran Church with Pastor Megan Reedstrom officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
