Johnny Cogswell, 70, born October 1, 1954 was promoted to glory November 28, 2024. There to meet him was his parents Everett Cogswell and Laura McCamey, his brothers and sister Clarence, Dan, Roy, Helen, Raymond, Lonnie and Jimmy “Bonesy”.
One of John’s favorite sayings “Life is Good” will be forever remember by his loving family; his wife Stacey Cogswell, his daughter Kelly Hoover and husband Andy of Brookfield Ohio, his sons John Cogswell and his wife Erika of Sharpsville and Shayne Cogswell and his wife Samantha of Mercer. His adopted daughter Tammy Surrena of Grove City, John’s grandchildren Tori, Katelyn, Kaylie, Leah, Logan, Paityn, Ava and Taylor, his 6 great grandchildren which he was very proud of. His loving siblings Chester, Marie, Polly, Rachael & Ralph, Ed and Keith and their families including the numerous nieces and nephews.
John had a passion for carpentry having retired from the Labor Union Local 964 in 2016 as a brick tender. John was a proud United States Veteran, having served in the Marine Corps and being honorably discharged in 1976. He was a true American Patriot and loved his country dearly. John was elated over the election of Donald J. Trump. John was a life time member of the NRA, he enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. John’s family will miss his contagious smile, upbeat personality, happy singing but mostly his unwavering kindness.
John’s family will welcome friends and family at the Jamison McKinley Funeral Home, 117 North Main Street, Harrisville, PA on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. with funeral services at 1:00 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be officiated by Chaplain Shelia Palonen.
Burial will take place the Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville where the Franklin Veterans Ceremonial Squad will provide military honors.
