Hazel Mae Smith, 87, of Texarkana, Arkansas, formerly of Harrison County, Indiana, died Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in Blytheville, Arkansas. She was born November 17, 1937, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Richard W. And Belva E. McCullum Briles. She was a member of the Bible Missionary Church in Texarkana, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 68 years, Rev. Lewis Edward “Smitty” Smith; her sister, Donna Duke; and her brother, Jesse Briles.
Survivors include her son, Allen Ray Smith (Elizabeth) of Tallahassee, Florida; her daughters, Sharon Elaine Bardwell (Skeeter) of Texarkana, Arkansas and Valerie Sue Stanger (Charles) of Blytheville; her grandchildren, Robin Taylor (Brad), Lisa Crane (Jonathan), Andrew Stanger (Rachel), Stephanie Somerlot (Daniel), Jesse Joed Smith and Christopher Stanger; and her great grandchildren, Brayden Taylor, Brooklynne Taylor, Jalanna Crane, Faith Stanger, Karrah Stanger and Hope Stanger.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will Bradley Taylor, Jonathan Crane, Andrew Stanger, Jesse Joed Smith, Christopher Stanger and Brayden Taylor.
