Pat Hershner Obituary

LEXINGTON: Pat Hershner was a fighter. Equipped with the full armor of God (Ephesians 6: 10-18), Pat fought on her knees. As a prayer warrior she covered her family, her church, and even strangers with the “liquid gold” of her anointed prayers to God the Father. The Holy Spirit laid heavy on her heart - insight even - into the needs of others, and the need to address others for their prayer concerns. Pat was constant in her desire to bring people to the throne of God. She personified a prayer warrior.

Her faith now sight, Pat passed into the Lord’s care Thursday, November 28, 2024 - Thanksgiving Day - at Ohio Health Hospital Mansfield. She was 80.

Born Patricia Ann Crawford on February 19, 1944, in Cleveland the daughter of Frederick Arthur and Clara (Elias) Crawford, she was graduated from Johnsville High School in 1961.

Pat worked as a waitress, first in her family’s Rendezvous Restaurant in Johnsville, and later with Perkins, and Signature Eatery. For thirty years she operated her own housecleaning business.

For 20 years she was active with the motorcycle ministry Evangelists for Christ. She loved people - all people - but first and foremost was her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. She would spend hours on the phone counselling friends, and started every morning in the Word.

The flower beds around her home looked like Kingwood Center, a result of the hours of her attention (“she loved picking weeds”). Gardening was her therapy - and a little more time for prayer, and she enjoyed long walks - even more time for prayer!

A member of Storyside, she was active in the congregation’s Prayer Ministry Team and Welcoming Committee.

She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family and friends, for her continual spirit of prayer (it seemed she had a hotline to the Lord), and as a doting grandma and Situ (grandma in Lebanese) to her great grandchildren.

Patricia is survived by her husband C. David Hershner; their children Tammy (Rick) Gaul of Johnstown, Mike (Carolyn) Hershner of Bellville, and Mark (Jody) Hershner of Mansfield; grandchildren Amy Yanok, Holly Jones, Kelly King, Brandon Hershner, and Ericka Neal; 16 great grandchildren; her sister Louella (Richard) Shasky of Mansfield; brothers Charles (Kathleen) Crawford of Knoxville, Tennessee, and John (Paula) Crawford of Westerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Hershner family will receive friends Sunday December 1, 2024 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Storyside Church, 541 State Route 97 West, Bellville. A Worship service, giving glory to God for the life of Patricia Hershner will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Storyside Church. Pastor Micah Pelkey will preside. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
