Giles Saylor, Jr., 85, of Arjay, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his home. He was born in Brock Hollow in Pineville, Kentucky on April 13, 1939, to the late Giles Saylor, Sr. and the late Florence Saylor. Giles had been a coal miner for many years. Giles was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Arjay.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Darrel Saylor, sisters; Pauline Salah, Ruby Broshear, Della Gambrel, Cynthia Saylor, and Kathy Saylor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lynne Saylor. children and their spouses: Garrett (Adrienne) Saylor, and Tommy (Sarah) Saylor. Grandchildren: Cody (Brittany) Saylor, Shana Saylor, Anthony Saylor, Julia Saylor, and James Saylor. Great-Grandchildren; Aubrey Saylor, Alyssa Saylor, Scarlett Taylor, and Paislynne Taylor, sister Mallie Sue Roark; brother, Grant Saylor. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, Kentucky with the Rev. John Neal and Rev. Wilkie Saylor, officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Wilkie Saylor, Paul Gipson, and Adrienne Saylor. Burial will be at the Saylor Family Cemetery at Brock Hollow in Pineville, Kentucky, on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Garrett Saylor, Tommy Saylor, Anthony Saylor, Cody Saylor, Tony Joe Saylor, and Matt Roark. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM, at the Arnett and Steele Funeral Home in Pineville.
