Theresa "Tess" Egan Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa “Tess” Egan, 67, of Modena, NY on November 27, 2024 in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. Theresa was born on August 30, 1957 in Middletown, NY. She is the daughter of the late Leo Russell and Marguerite (Meyers) Croce.

Tess graduated from John A. Coleman High School then entered the workforce until she retired from Eclipse Awnings in 2021.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert Egan and children Danielle Egan of Modena, NY, Sean (Jessica) Egan of Modena, NY, and Ryan (Sondra) Egan of Wallkill, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren Connor, Robert, Tucker, Lucas, and Mackenzie. She leaves behind her siblings Russell Croce, Richard (Donna) Croce, Joseph Croce, Ferdinand (Christine) Croce, Barbara (Steve) Cardana, Anna (Robert) Bouchard, Bernadette (Edward) Koonz, John (Karen) Croce, Peter (Patricia) Croce, her sister-in-law Barbara Croce along with numerous nieces & nephews who she adored.

She is predeceased by her siblings Paul Croce, Marite Civile, Gerard Croce, Michael Croce, and sister-in-laws Jacqueline Croce and Judith Croce.

Tess was a woman of incredible strength, unwavering determination, and a heart full of love and support for her family and friends. Her life was enriched by the presence of her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and happiness.

Each year, she sought solace and peace by the ocean, returning to Sea Isle City, NJ—a place she held dear to her heart. It was here that she created lasting memories with her beloved grandchildren, their laughter filling her life with immeasurable joy. These annual trips to the shore were more than just vacations; they were cherished traditions that deepened the connections she shared with family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable moments by the sea.

Tess treasured her beach trips with her best friend, Amy Walsh. They’d unwind with a drink in hand, enjoying peaceful moments together. Sometimes they’d take a walk along the shore, chatting or just savoring the calm. For Tess, it wasn’t just about the beach or the wine—it was the comfort of being with someone who truly understood her. It was a simple, cherished escape from the demands of everyday life.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and all who knew her.
