James “Jim” Donald Courtney, 72, of Inwood, WV passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at his home.
Born August 1, 1952 in Martinsburg, WV to the late James H. Courtney and Bessie V. Laing Courtney.
Jim went to Musselman High School, and was a member of the band. He worked for Capital Records, Certain Teed, and Knouse Foods. He loved the Beatles, since they were on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Gilroy Courtney; son, Gabriel “Gage” Courtney; daughters, Laura Courtney, Jamie Courtney, Samantha Gilroy, and Christina Leonard (James “Jimmy” Easterday); grandchildren, Jason, Jem, Jewel, Josie, Avery, and Bohdi; sister, Linda Courtney; mother in law, Geraldine “Geri” Gilroy; special aunt, Jeannette Harrison and uncle, Donald “Wink” Laing; and best friend, Curtis Welch.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Courtney, brother in laws, Scott Gilroy, and Daniel Myers, Sr.; and sister in law, Metha Gearhart.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Services and interment will be private.
