Linda Gail Hughes, age 71, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Freedom Church with Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Hughes was born in Poteau, Oklahoma on July 13, 1953, to the late Delbert and Mildred Reading. She worked in the school System as a Paraprofessional at Southside Elementary School. She later worked at Faith Christian Academy and was a member of Freedom Church.

She lived her life to serve and prayed without ceasing. Her day began with quiet time on the porch reading her Bible, praying and drinking her coffee. Jesus’ name never left her lips and she came to be known as a prayer warrior and was called on by everyone for her prayers and for the scripture that she studied and hid in her heart. She loved unconditionally and spoke life into everyone. She was humble and kind. She lived by the Word until she took her last breath. She thanked Jesus before she ever asked for her need. We can’t ever fill her shoes…but we will follow her footsteps to His throne.

Survivors include her son Bo Hughes (Tonya), her daughters Christina Coxwell (Andy) both of Milledgeville and Elizabeth

Saucillo of Gray, and her son-in-law Ramon Saucillo of Gray, two brothers Gary Reading and Derial Reading of Oklahoma, a sister Kay Miller of Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, Andrew, Jenna, Kaitlyn, Carter, Cameron, James, Jose, Joshua, and Enrique, and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. followed by services at Freedom Church
