MacDonald, Daniel "Dan":

Passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at Hospice Wellington, in Guelph, ON, surrounded by  his loving wife Jan and his grandchildren at the age of 84.

Beloved husband of 61 years to Jan.

Cherished father of Dean (Jackie) and the late Scott (Alexandra).

Loving grandfather of Ben, Sam, Ethan, Liam, Mason, and Taite.

Dear brother of Sally Wismer (late Robert) and Bonnie Trudeau (Joseph).

Brother-in-law of Johanna Leeflang (late Jerry), Albert Ribbink (Janie) and Gerry Toman (Elwood).

He will be fondly remembered by his good friends Bob Weber & Judy Geraghty, Ken & Judy Seltzer.

Predeceased by Mary Campbell (Dan), Susan Alton (Lorne), Sandy (late Fran).

Dan will also be missed by all of his many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Dan was born in Wiarton, Ontario, December 20th, 1939 and grew up in Richard’s Landing, Ontario on St. Joseph’s Island near Sault Saint Marie, Ontario. He graduated from University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1965. He lived the rest of his life in Waterloo with wife Janny and his two sons Scott and Dean.

Dan's family will receive relatives and friends for a Celebration of Life and Reception, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 3:00 - 6:00 PM, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Tributes will begin at 5:00 PM.

As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
